January 2, 2012: During the year 2011 the
"Gute Nachrichten" website
had 281,661 visitors, a new annual record. The number of
visitors has increased fourfold since 2006. The tally for
December 2011 was 30,763, a new monthly record.
January 7, 2012: The local income of the Vereinte
Kirche Gottes [UCG-Germany] decreased by 10.3 percent during
the year 2011 in comparison to the previous year. Income in the
last six months of the year did not match a strong second half
of the year in 2010.
January 11, 2012: For the year 2011 the Vereinte
Kirche Gottes ["UCG-Germany"] distributed a total of 60,279
publications in the German language, a new annual record and a
4.3 percent increase over the previous year. The booklets
requested most often were "Nach dem Tode – was dann?"
["What happens after death?], "Jesus Christus: Die wahre
Geschichte" ["Jesus Christ: The true story"] and "Die
Offenbarung verständlich erklärt" ["The book of
Revelation unveiled"].
January 16, 2012: The January-February issue of the
"Gute Nachrichten" magazine is mailed to 7669 readers in 17
European countries. This is a
new record high for "Gute Nachrichten"
circulation, representing a 2.6 percent increase over the
last issue and a 1.9 percent increase over the
January-February 2011 issue. The circulation goal for 2012
is 8500 subscribers by the end of the year. This was the
first issue to be printed with D + L Printpartners, the
new printer located near the Dutch-German border in
Bocholt. The cost savings for this issue was
1200 €.
January 24, 2012: The Vereinte Kirche Gottes
[UCG-Germany] relocates its office in Niederkassel, Germany
(near Bonn) to a ground floor location. The office was
previously on the first floor of the same building. The ground
floor office means less work transporting booklets for
mailing.
February 3, 2012: The Vereinte Kirche Gottes
["UCG-Germany"] announces the dates for the next round of its
"Kingdom of God" seminars. On March 17 the first seminar in the
two-part series will be held in Stuttgart and Munich. On March
24 the second seminar in the series where will offered in
Mörfelden, five months after the first seminar. On April
21 the first seminar to be held in Switzerland will take place
in Winterthur, and one week later the second seminar will be
held in Dormagen, Germany.
February 13, 2012: The Vereinte Kirche Gottes
["UCG-Germany"] provides
Vereinte Kirche Gottes ["UCG-Germany"]
provides a final typesetting quality check to assist
the United Church of God-Holland in publishing the new
booklet "Is Er Leben Na De Dood?" ["Is there life after
death?"]. The Vereinte Kirche Gottes has provided
typesetting for 7 of the 8 booklets published by the
United Church of God-Holland.
February 20, 2012: The Vereinte Kirche Gottes
[UCG-Germany] announces a fellowship weekend for Pentecost for
the Dormagen, Germany and the United Church of God-Holland
congregations. Accommodations are available from Friday, May 25
to Monday, Monday 28 at the "Schullandheim Herongen" in
Straelen, Germany on the Dutch-German border near Venlo.
February 27, 2012: United Christian Outreach Germany
announces a special fundraiser to provide $1000 for Mnazakan
Poghossjan to attend this year's Feast of Tabernacles in
Schluchsee, Germany.
March 3, 2012: The Vereinte Kirche Gottes
[UCG-Germany] announces a switch to streaming live church
services from the Darmstadt congregation, rather than using
Skype. A test run last fall showed streaming to be more stable
than Skype, also providing better quality audio. Services in
Dormagen will be streamed live later this year.
March 12, 2012: The March-April issue of the "Gute
Nachrichten" magazine is mailed to
7847 readers in 17 European countries. This
is a new record high for "Gute Nachrichten" circulation,
representing a 2.3 percent increase over the last issue
and a 4.2 percent increase over the March 2011 issue. The
circulation goal for 2012 is 8500 subscribers by the end
of the year. The lead article, Germany: The Reluctant World
Power?, was written by UCOG President Paul Kieffer.
March 18, 2012: The Vereinte Kirche Gottes
["UCG-Germany"] begins another round of "Kingdom of God" Bible

March 24, 2012: The Vereinte Kirche Gottes
[UCG-Germany] conducts a follow-up "Kingdom of God" seminar in
Mörfelden, Germany (near Frankfurt). 12 visitors attended
the seminar.
April 4, 2012: Switching to a new printer this year
has saved the Vereinte Kirche Gottes [UCG-Germany]
approximately 3000 € in printing and mailing expense
for the first two issues of the "Gute Nachrichten" magazine
this year.
April 14, 2012: Statistics for the Passover and the
Feast of Unleavened Bread in the German-language region have
been finalized. 107 people met at six locations to keep the
Passover. On the first day of Unleavened Bread, 141 people
attended services in six locations: Dormagen (29), Hamburg
(11), Mühldorf (14), Plauen (12), Schriesheim (30) and
Winterthur in Switzerland (45). The offering was
11,497 €, which was 29% higher than last year's
offering. On the last day of Unleavened Bread, 126 people
attended services in five locations: Dormagen (32), Hamburg
(11), Munich (13), Schriesheim (35) and Winterthur in
Switzerland (35). The offering (7367 €) was 9% less
than in 2011.
April 21, 2012: The Vereinte Kirche Gottes
[UCG-Germany] conducts its first "Kingdom of God" seminar in
Switzerland. 9 visitors attended the seminar conducted by UCOG
President Paul Kieffer in Winterthur.
April 28, 2012: The Vereinte Kirche Gottes
[UCG-Germany] conducts a follow-up "Kingdom of God" seminar in
Dormagen, Germany (near Cologne). 8 visitors attended the
seminar.
May 5, 2012: The Vereinte Kirche Gottes [UCG-Germany]
conducts a follow-up "Kingdom of God" seminar in Hamburg,
Germany. 8 visitors attended the seminar.
May 13, 2012: The May-June issue
of the "Gute Nachrichten" magazine is mailed
to 8015 readers in 17 European countries. This is a
another new record high for "Gute Nachrichten"
circulation, representing a 2.1 percent increase over the
last issue and a 8.2 percent increase over the May 2011
issue. The circulation goal for 2012 is 8500 subscribers
by the end of the year.
May 19, 2012: United Christian Outreach Germany's
special fundraiser to provide $1000 as festival assistance for
Mnazakan Poghossjan to attend this year's Feast of Tabernacles
in Schluchsee, Germany has reached 50 percent of its goal.
May 27, 2012: 35 members from 4 congregations in 2
countries meet for a Pentecost fellowship weekend in Herongen,
Germany, near the Dutch-German border. Read more ».
May 31, 2012: Statistics for the Feast of Pentecost
have been finalized. 144 people met in five locations in the
German-language region: 52 people met in Herongen on the
Dutch-German border. for a combined service of the Dutch and
Dormagen congregations. The other locations were Hamburg (11),
Munich (17), Schriesheim (30) and Winterthur in Switzerland
(34). The offering in the German-language region was
10,016 €, a 17.8 percent increase in comparison to
last year's offering. The offering for the 3 spring Holy Days
(Unleavened Bread, Pentecost) was 13.2 percent higher than last
year.
June 9, 2012: The Vereinte Kirche Gottes
[UCG-Germany] conducts its first "Kingdom of God" seminar in
Austria. 4 visitors attended the seminar in Salzburg conducted
by Austrian elder Martin Fekete.
June 15, 2012: The Vereinte Kirche Gottes
[UCG-Germany] re-registers its German-language Yahoo search
engine advertizing with the Microsoft adCenter. Keyword
advertizing for the Yahoo and Bing search engines is being
combined under Microsoft, making the change necessary.
June 22, 2012:
The Vereinte Kirche Gottes ["UCG-Germany"]
reprints the booklet "Lebendiger Glaube" ["You Can Have
Living Faith"], for the first time since its original
printing in 2001. For reprinting, the text of the booklet
was adapted to the new German spelling rules.
June 30, 2012: For the first six months of the year,
the donation income for the Vereinte Kirche Gottes
[UCG-Germany] was 4.2 percent less than the same period last
year. May income was 28.1 percent higher than May 2011, and
June's income saw a 36 percent decrease, largely the result of
a large single donation made in June 2011.
July 6, 2012: The July-August issue
of the "Gute Nachrichten" magazine is mailed
to 8162 readers in 17 European countries. This is a
another new record high for "Gute Nachrichten"
circulation, representing a 12.9 percent increase over the
July 2011 issue. This issue was sent to 6679 subscribers
in Germany, 578 subscribers in Switzerland and 551
subscribers in Austria.
July 13, 2012: The Vereinte Kirche Gottes
[UCG-Germany] begins producing its "Gute Nachrichten" and
"Intern" publications in the popular ebook formats "epub" and
"mobi". Current issues are available in both formats, and
archived issues will be updated as time permits.
July 21, 2012: The Vereinte Kirche Gottes
[UCG-Germany] conducts a follow-up "Kingdom of God" seminar in
Munich, Germany. 1 visitor attended the seminar conducted by
elder Martin Fekete.
July 27, 2012: For the fifth consecutive year,
children from Germany and the Netherlands traveled to the
United Kingdom to participate in the summer camp hosted near
Manchester by the United Church of God-British Isles.
August 6, 2012: The special
fundraiser to provide
$1000 as festival assistance for airfare, visa and
lodging expenses for Mnazakan Poghossjan to attend this
year's Feast of Tabernacles in Schluchsee, Germany is now
100 percent funded. Mr. Poghassjan speaks fluent German
and is the only member of the United Church of God in
Armenia. He is currently unemployed. Without additional
financial assistance, he would not be able to attend the
Feast.
August 13, 2012: The Vereinte Kirche Gottes
[UCG-Germany] now has 200 followers for its regular tweets using the Twitter

attended the seminar in Salzburg conducted by elder Martin
Fekete, and ten visitors were present for the Stuttgart seminar
presented by Paul Kieffer.
September 8, 2012: The Vereinte Kirche Gottes
[UCG-Germany] conducts the final follow-up "Kingdom of God"
seminar in Winterthur, Switzerland. Nine visitors attended the
seminar presented by Paul Kieffer. A total of 133 visitors
attended the seminars held in 7 locations in Germany, Austria
and Switzerland.
September 12, 2012: The September-October issue
of the "Gute Nachrichten" magazine is mailed
to 8182 readers in 17 European countries. This is a
another new record high for "Gute Nachrichten"
circulation, representing a 11.7 percent increase over the
September 2011 issue.
September 17, 2012: 119 people met at five locations
in the German-language region for church services today on the
Feast of Trumpets. In Dormagen the attendance was 33 (this year
there was no combined service with UCG-Holland). 33 people met
in Schriesheim (near Heidelberg), and 28 were in attendance in
Winterthur, Switzerland. In Munich the attendance was 9. 16
people attended the afternoon service in Hamburg.
October 1, 2012: 193 people from 10 countries meet in
Schluchsee in the southern Black Forest to observe the biblical

October 9, 2012: The offering statistics for the Feast
of Tabernacles and Last Great Day in the German-language region
have been finalized. The offering on the first day of the Feast
of Tabernacles was 11,049 €, 1.9 percent less than
last year. The offering (10,308 €) on the Last Great
Day was 4.6 higher in comparison to 2011. The total offering on
the seven annual Holy Days in 2012 was 5.3 percent more than
last year.
October 17, 2012:
The Vereinte Kirche Gottes ["UCG-Germany"]
reprints the booklet "Das Buch der Offenbarung
verständlich erklärt" ["The book of Revelation
Unveiled"] for the first time. A reflection of the
booklet's popularity, the original print run in 2010 was
distributed in only two years, the quickest that an
initial printing has been exhausted.
October 27, 2012: At today's final meeting of the
year, the UCG-Germany National Council approved the 2013 budget
of 220,000 €. Income is projected to be 190,000 €,
with the deficit being paid from cash reserves. The budget
includes projected expenses producing and distributing the
"Gute Nachrichten" magazine to 8,000 subscribers, print one new
booklet and reprint two booklets.
November 7, 2012: UCG-Germany establishes a member
task force to propose topics for the next round of Bible
seminars, scheduled to begin in the fall of 2013. The task
force will also propose topics for an "open door" Sabbath
service format. Austrian elder Martin Fekete serves as the task
force chairman.
November 14, 2012: The November-Dezember issue
of the "Gute Nachrichten" magazine is mailed
to 8192 readers in 17 European countries. This is a
another new record high for "Gute Nachrichten"
circulation, representing a 9.6 percent increase over the
November 2011 issue.
November 23, 2012: The Vereinte Kirche Gottes
[UCG-Germany] has completed production of all archived issues
of its "Intern" publication in the popular ebook formats "epub" and
"mobi". With all issues of "Intern" and "Gute
Nachrichten" now available as ebooks, booklets will be the
next publication to be produced in this format.
December 4, 2012: The Vereinte Kirche Gottes
[UCG-Germany] launches a 24 hour internet radio station for its
members. The station broadcasts a weekly sermon that is aired
three times daily, church hymns and live audio from church
services in Dormagen and Mörfelden.
December 13, 2012: The Calwer publishing house in
Stuttgart requests permission to reprint an article in
"Intern". The article will part of a series of articles in a
handbook for public school religion teachers at the high school
level.
December 20, 2012: At the end of the year the "Gute
Nachrichten" magazine is being sent to 8242 subscribers in 27
countries, an increase of 8.8 percent over last year. There are
6995 subscribers in Germany, 537 in Austria and 555 in
Switzerland.
December 31, 2012: Donation income for the Vereinte
Kirche Gottes [UCG-Germany] in 2012 increased by 11.6 percent
over 2011. Coworkers and donors (defined as individuals who
provide financial support but do not attend UCG-Germany worship
services) contributed 16.3 percent of UCG-Germany's regular
income during 2012.
