Years ago I heard someone say that you can achieve more in life if you aren't so concerned about who gets the credit. The evangelists Matthew, Mark, Luke and John do not describe Jesus' suffering in the hours prior to His death in great detail, in contrast to the often very graphic portrayal of news events we can see every day on television. But the evangelist's contemporaries did not need a detailed description, because they were aware of the brutal methods of punishment used by the Romans. (more…)
