WNP Seminar in Cincinnati

Filed under Back in the USA

Last weekend Monica and I traveled to Cincinnati for a "World News & Prophecy" seminar.

I was asked to prepare two seminars by WNP seminar in Cincinnati by WNP managing editor Darris McNeely. We drove over to Gulfport, Mississippi on Friday morning for an early flight to Indianapolis via Atlanta. (For domestic flights it is usually cheaper to fly either from Gulfport or Pensacola than Mobile.) Darris picked us up at the airport and we drove to Cincinnati for the lectures and church services the next day. The area had had a good bit of snow recently. When it snowed again on Saturday morning, the attendance was bound to be affected, which it was, as church services were canceled in neighboring areas. Still, about 190 people met in Cincinnati for the morning church service, with a good number staying on for the afternoon seminars. Darris, Melvin Rhodes and I were the presenters. I was impressed by a group of young fellows who all know how to dress for church services.

The weekend also Matt and Lisa Fenchel in Cincinnati gave us a chance to visit with our friends Matt and Lisa Fenchel and their children Lynette and Garrett. We first met Matt and Lisa in 1994 in Germany and enjoyed working with them for a year before they returned to the USA in 1995, initially relocating to the US Northwest. On one of our first visits to see them in that year we were renamed "Mr. & Mrs. Company", which is what Lynette thought our names were. The Fenchels have visited Germany for the Feast of Tabernacles several times in the last ten years. When Matt’s previous employer in Cincinnati decided in 2005 that Matt’s services were no longer needed, Matt rolled up his sleeves and went back to school to get his master’s degree. He graduated in December 2006 – congratulations Matt! In January he started work as a biostatistician with Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati, where he does analysis of research results. I was honored when Lynette said that she had understood "Mr. Company’s" afternoon seminar! :-)
