Feast of Tabernacles 2008, Day 2

[with comments]     Filed under UCG-Germany

Today at the Schluchsee Feast site I had lunch with our special guests from Latvia.

The Sulcs family from Latvia is attending their first Schluchsee Feast site Feast of Tabernacles. They learned about the United Church of God two years ago via an Internet ad. They are members of the Latvian Baptist church, and Mr. Sulcs is a lay pastor for his local congregation. He is employed as a lumber salesman for his regular work. Through UCG literature they learned about the biblical Sabbath and festivals and began keeping them on their own. After explaining the Bible’s teaching on these important subjects to his congregation, nearly all of them decided to keep the Sabbath and festivals and observe other biblical laws. The Latvian Baptist church has accepted the local congregation’s decision. Next year they hope that their entire congregation will be at the UCG site planned for Estonia.

Comment from Stan Hopper:

This update on the Sulcs family is very inspiring. God’s calling is so diverse. Thanks for your blog. We are Keeping the Feast in Branson (Missouri).
