A surprise visitor to Bonn

When I returned home from visiting members yesterday afternoon, there was a surprise visitor waiting for me.

I had been out visiting about 50 miles from Bonn Vic Kubik when I got a phone call from editorial assistant Jesmina Allaoua in Bonn. Vic Kubik had missed his return flight to the USA and was on his way from the Frankfurt airport to Bonn. It is a high speed train connection, so Vic covered the approximately 80 miles in just 38 minutes and was at the Siegburg station faster than I could drive the 50 miles home! We went to dinner at a nearby outdoor restaurant on the "Sieg" river and then Vic spent the night at a hotel in Niederkassel-Mondorf, where our small office is located. After breakfast the next morning, Vic returned via high-speed train to the Frankfurt airport and then on to the U.S. for his return trip home.
