The game is not over yet

The most exciting games in sports are often those when the underdog doesn’t give up but keeps on playing hard and then takes the lead in the final minutes to win the game.

Even though they didn’t seem to have a chance for victory, the players didn’t quit. Victory was their reward!

Some times it’s like that in a Christian’s life. Our walk with God lasts our entire lifetime. Along the way there are high points, but also some deep valley. When we go through a deep valley, it may seem like we aren’t going to make it. But our walk with God isn’t over yet. There is still some distance to go with Him.

When we go through worrisome financial troubles . . .

When we lose our job . . .

When a family member has a serious problem that affects us . . .

When we wrestle with a sin that we can’t seem to overcome . . .

When age-related bodily changes affect us . . .

or whatever it might be, we haven’t reached the end of the road yet. There is still some distance to be traveled.

The apostle Paul went through a few valleys during his service for God. His perspective is encouraging for everyone who faces challenges in life:

"We never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our inner strength in the Lord is growing every day" (2 Corinthians 4:16; The Living Bible).

No matter where the path leads us, God has said that He will not leave us or forsake us.

No matter what "the score" in our life may be at any given point, as long as we breath, as long as God gives us a new day of life, our walk with Him continues.

With these thoughts I wish us all a rewarding Sabbath!
