Taking care of business

UCOG board member John Burquist visited the UCG-Germany office in Niederkassel, Germany and saw first hand how funds provided by UCOG are being used. Not bad for a fellow who just had his 85th birthday!

John Burquist in Germany On a visit to Germany to attend the Feast of Tabernacles, John paid a visit to the United Church of God-Germany office located near Bonn, Germany. There he was able to see for himself the progress made in producing literature in the German language, including the newest booklet published by UCG-Germany, "Amerika und Großbritannien: Was sagt die Bibel über ihre Zukunft?" ["America and Great Britain: What does the Bible say about their future?"]. Editorial staff member Jesmina Allaoua gave him a brief office tour and demonstrated the mail processing program. In addition to literature funded by UCOG, John saw equipment provided by UCOG, including Jesmina’s new computer, a high-speed cassette tape duplicating machine and the new CD copier, soon to be used for the MP3 sermon program which will start in January 2006. After the long flight across the Atlantic, the biggest challenge in visiting the office was climbing the 15 steps up to the first floor where the office is located.

John is one of the original board members of United Christian Outreach Germany.
