What do you call a relationship between two young adults from countries within the EU?

It will be a "European Union" for Maurits de Jong and Julie Richardson sometime this spring. Maurits is from the Netherlands and has been living in the UK now for about a year. He works for Kimberly-Clark in the UK and services customers in the Netherlands and in Germany (since in addition to his own native language of Dutch he also speaks German, as well as English). Julie is from the United Kingdom. They met via church contacts among young people and got to know each other in recent years. I had the opportunity to chat with them for a couple of hours this past weekend at the de Jong home in Steenbergen, Netherlands, where Julie has paid several visits the last couple of years. Their wedding will be a European affair of sorts, with family and other guests from the Netherlands traveling to the UK for the wedding. With love, faith, patience and mutual understanding this "European Union" won’t be a mixture of clay and iron.
