Feast of Tabernacles 2008, Day 3

Today at the Schluchsee Feast site we viewed this year’s festival video.

The video on our heritage of faith in keeping the biblical festivals as a church for 75 years Schluchsee Feast site was well received. For many of the German-speaking brethren some of the historical background was new. Today’s service was entirely in English, with visiting elder Matt Fenchel leading songs and doing the announcements. We get the video transcript in advance and have it entirely translated before the feast. During today’s service, native speaker Grace Rothenbacher (who is visiting from Indianapolis, Indiana) listened to the audio from the video via headphones and read the transcript for our members who do not understand English. We had a brief technical problem at the start of the video when a defective stereo cable did not deliver the second stereo channel with the speaker’s voice, but that was corrected quickly. Today’s service started at 8:30 a.m., giving our feastgoers a longer day for sightseeing. We have an early service like this every year on the day the festival video is shown.
