Arrival in Schluchsee

Today was our travel day to Schluchsee in the southern Black Forest for this year’s Feast of Tabernacles.

This is the twelfth time that we are meeting in Schluchsee, Germany for the Feast of Tabernacles. Schluchsee UCG-Germany has been here every year since 1999, after having the previous three feasts in rainy Winterberg in the Sauerland area northwest of Frankfurt. Schluchsee is familiar to us since our former affiliation was in nearby Bonndorf for the Feast of Tabernacles (until they decided that they no longer needed to observe it) and a number of people stayed here in Schluchsee during that time (we did ourselves as well, twice in the mid-1980s). Schluchsee is at an elevation of about 3,000 feet and offers plenty of recreational activities. What is good for our people is that most lodging places are within walking distance from the hall where we have our church services. For our overseas visitors (about 60 this year) that means you would not even need to rent a car unless you wanted to do some extensive sightseeing. The view is from our apartment balcony looking down towards the town and lake. Tomorrow is set-up day at the hall. I will set up the FM transmitting system for the simultaneous translation.
