Interactive Bible Study via the Internet

After a couple of tests earlier this month, today was our first regular UCG-Germany interactive Bible study via the internet.

We are using Skype for our internet Bible studies, and today we had 23 people in five countries participate, using 18 Skype connections. I was one of the countries "myself", since I conducted the study from Dallas, Texas, where I am visiting family. I wondered how it would work out with the internet connection, since my netbook does not have the fastest processor. But that worked out when daughter Rachel let me use her notebook which has a faster processor and more RAM. Then my son-in-law Eric offered to let me use one of his company’s conference rooms, which meant I would have privacy and a fast, stable internet connection. So I showed up at the office 30 minutes before the scheduled study (which was at 7:30 p.m. CET, 12:30 p.m. in the U.S. central time zone) and got everything set up. Everything worked out well, the connection was stable (I used a wired connection instead of wireless) and we had good participation. Looks like this will be regular event in the future!
