Ah, that was nice!

Filed under Back in the USA

On today’s flight from Frankfurt to Atlanta Delta upgraded me to business class.

This is the third time in the last two years that I have gotten an upgrade across the Atlantic: twice from Frankfurt and once from Detroit back to Frankfurt. Twice it was during the summer months when the flight was totally booked out (likely oversold in economy class), and once just after I had reached the million mile level as a frequent flier. So what did I do today in business class? The movies didn’t interest me, so I had plenty of room to spread my stuff out and work on my netbook. With a power outlet right at my seat, I did not even need my hefty netbook battery. The food and service were great, and I look forward to another upgrade whenever Delta thinks it is appropriate. To quote their old jingle: "Delta is ready when you are" – hey, I’m ready!
